Hello, I'm Ivy. I'm currently 16, and I have never had braces. My teeth are not in bad condition in their current state, but they could use some improvement. I decided to try invisalign (I mean really, what junior in high school wants  METAL BRACES? lol) So, about a month ago I went to get a referral, and I turned out to be a good candidate for invisalign. A week or so later, I went in to be approved by an orthodontist, and he thought I would be a good candidate, so we scheduled an appointment to start the process of getting invisalign. My next appointment consisted of getting impressions taken, (YUCK) and pictures of my teeth from different angles. These impressions and pictures were sent off, and the processes of making my trays began. Today, on May 1st, I went in to get my first three sets of trays. My dentist began by putting "attachments" on my teeth, which are little bumps to hold the trays in place. I have ten attachments, six on top and four on the bottom. They then slid my trays into place, and off I went. I left them on for a few hours, and then when it was time to eat I began to worry that I wouldn't be able to get the trays off, because they are currently really snug. I used a paper-towel to grip the trays starting at my molars and working my way forwards, and they came out pretty easily. I put them back in after I ate (brushing/flossing my teeth and brushing my trays of course...) and about an hour and a half later, I started noticing that I feel like I want to chew on something... I assume that means they're working! (: I'll try to update every time I change to a new set of trays. (Also, sorry about the terrible lighting/picture quality, I'll try to do better in my future updates!)
